Basic Gillis iLesson Description
In a basic iLesson, the student will film themselves and send the video to the instructor via the V1 App to the Gillis/IFI website. The instructor will then return the video with an evaluation, including video analysis with voice over, comparison models, recommendations and drills & exercises that they need. Also, a video clip of the drills or exercises reccomended will be attatch to the lesson, including demonstration and instructions on how to do each. The advantage of this is that you can review with drill clip as often as you like. The turn around time will be anywhere from 24-48 hours depending on the instructors availability.
Advanced Gillis iLesson Description
The Advanced iLesson is the same lesson and process as the Basic Lesson but includes a follow-up video consultation and feedback session up to 7 days after the initial lesson. Essentially, the student is getting feedback on the assigned drills. So the student will send a couple (2) repititions on any drill or concept that they have a question about. This is a great value and really improves the process.
Filming Instructions
Please make sure that lighting is adequate and all videos are clear and in focus. All shots should be taken from as close as possible yet with the player's body still completely visible from start to finish. No part of the head, feet, or hands should leave the screen at anytime. One shot of the following three angles should be taken for all lessons unless otherwise requested by the instructor:
- 1 pitch - From the side- 90 degrees to the pitcher on the throwing hand side so that the front of the body is visible at the "K" position and close enough to fill up the screen.
- 1 pitch - Angled Front- 45 degrees in front of the pitcher on the throwing hand side. Essentially, stand between the pitcher and catcher at a 45 degree angle and be sure to capture the entire body while filling up the screen.
- 1 pitch - Front- Stand as close to straight in front of the pitcher as is safely possible while getting close enough for the pitcher to fill up the screen. Please do not shoot this angle from behind the catcher as this does not allow for a large enough image and at times allows for the catcher to obstruct the view.
Once you have submitted your videos, you will not be allowed to resubmit them if they are of subpar quality and the instructor's evaluation may be compromised as a result. Please make sure that you are submitting the video as outlined above in order to get the most out of your lesson.
